Calily Life Retinol Day Cream
MY RATING: 5/5
I’m a sucker for moisturizers and day/night dreams. (*I like to channel Lady Cassandra from Doctor Who because I’m literally always so dry.*) This one did not disappoint! Plus, it has added benefits other than just moisturizing.
The jar looks relatively tiny when you first open it, but fear not, it doesn’t take much at all to cover your entire face. I think I used about a nickel size or even less for full coverage. The cream feels kind of thick (as day creams do), but compared to the kinds you buy at, say, Lancôme or Clinique counters, it’s not even that thick. I really loved the texture and thickness of this cream. It doesn’t feel like it clogs my pores and I don’t feel the weight of it once it’s on (which is something I kind of hated about Clinique’s and Lancôme’s creams to be honest). My skin is velvety smooth and feels very moisturized, even though it’s really dry and cold outside right now.
Not only does it moisturize, but it has anti-aging properties. Since it contains retinol, it helps reduce fine lines and wrinkles and also helps brighten the skin as well. I can tell a big difference in the appearance of my skin just within a few days of use, so I’m really excited to see what the long term benefits are on this product as well (especially in combination with the serum I reviewed in the previous post).
This product would also wear well under makeup, as it is so light once it goes on.
If you want to really pamper yourself, do yourself a favor and buy a lot of these Calily Life products. I haven’t been disappointed with any of them yet. As a gal with super sensitive skin who is pretty much allergic to everything, I haven’t experienced one problem with these yet and have only enjoyed numerous benefits. I honestly feel amazing and better about my appearance with these products.
(Please excuse my lips. They are super chapped. I haven't found a miracle product for those yet...if you have any recommendations, please let me know. :P)
