Ahem. Sorry about the evil laugh, it’s just I do really like Blueteeth(?) and having found a few that are pretty spiffy, and one or two that failed the test, and - having shared my booty with my family members, so they all have at least one set each (two for some, one for everyday use, one for gym/exercise) - I thought it time I should indulge myself and get a set of the Q20 Pros, which I had bought for my son, last month.

Nice surprise, straight off the bat, was that the Q20 Pros have been upgraded, in those few weeks, so I was buying the new, improved, super-duper Q20 Pro-on-steroids! Yaaay me. Cue celebrations in the workplace, street parties and a cure for COVID-19! Or the again, just cue my getting a rather more futuristic, sleeker, blacker, more Robocop (reboot) vibe from these babies, when I opened them up.

Having bought some Motast buds before (actually, they are the lightest, best and longest lasting tiny in-ear buds I have ever tried), I knew they make quality kit. This pair is no exception.

Having learned from my past mistakes, I checked, straightaway, for the plastic tabs over the magnetic charging points, on each headphone (see the pics for explanation) and removed them, to allow the buds to interact with, and charge from, the charging case.

The case is just as sleek and nice as the pair my son got, but as I said, the ‘buds, themselves, have had a cosmetic revamp.

It hasn’t affected their performance, either. Far from it. They came charged 88%, and I’ve been using them steadily, albeit intermittently, since, at work and home, listening to music, watching a movie (more on that soon) and digging in the garden. I haven’t charged the case, but the buds are currently at 36%, and that’s more than 24 hours, with maybe 6 or 7 hours constant use. I reckon I’ll get 9 or 10 out of these, at this rate - my son gets the same, between 9 and 10 hours, out of his earbuds.

So far so good.

The sound is still a little muted when it first powers on and pairs - Doris still has a sore throat, as she announces “pairing”, etc, (which is practically instantaneous - which is nice!).
But once you start listening to music, audiobooks (I’m an addict) or movies, they really come into their own.

The sound is rich - surprisingly so - and crisp, although treble still just edges bass. But that’s not a problem, as the sound quality, overall, for a set of buds this size and price range, is nothing short of superb, when you stop to consider it.

The movie was excellent, as it had lots of surround sound effects and I experienced every single one - ASMR-style - actually giving myself tingles, at times, raising the hairs on my neck and arms, such was the atmosphere and quality of sound. More than satisfied on this front!

Then my youngest son saw them and declared, “They are soooooo cool!” Inevitably, with the other buds I have, youngest son has swooped in, hawklike, and snatched my newest toy from my fingers (as children are wont to do - why don’t I get to play with all the toys?? Bah! Hummmmph!).

Still, at least he is happy, both sons now have almost matching earphones (so no arguments, although oldest son is slightly jealous of the zazzy sleek new look on these, over his “old” set - tsk! No pleasing some folk!) and it now frees me to go looking for the elusive headphones or earbuds, which will finally satisfy me and stop me buying more of the things! (Ha! Like that is going to happen! “My name is Iain, and I’m a tech addict...”)

Overall, there is zero reason not to give these five stars across the board. They outperform more expensive branded Bluetooth ‘buds and ‘phones, and provide excellent, secure, practically unshakable access to your music/book/movie/whatever, while light, comfortable, easy to use and have a crisp, clear and damn fine quality of sound, overall.

Oh, and calls are easy to take - each headphone also has the same controls, for ambidextrous/left handers, or using them one at a time (I do that at work, sometimes).

Splendid showing by Motast - just as I expected, and these didn’t let the side down one little bit.

Very highly recommended for active folk, particularly the more limber and on-the-move/in-the-gym types. Or twerking. You could wear these while practicing your twerking (oh God, I’ll never get rid of that mental image, now, no matter how much BrainBleach®️™️ that I use! GAAAAAH!
