I honestly cannot believe what a bargain the UTTORA Outdoor Explorer Kit is. It's so good that I would give more stars if I could. It arrives in a lovely box that you open up to reveal all of the 25 pieces inside. That's a lot of items and it's what makes this kit so very special.
Inside, there is a foldable khaki explorers hat - and this isn't some cheap rubbish that's been thrown together. Instead its a quality sun hat that you would easily pay £5 - £10 for. It's adjustable and actually, the pattern inside is so nice, it could easily be reversible too. It's great for making sure your child has protection on their head from the sun.
There's a lovely pair of chunky yellow binoculars in a little box. Again, they are good quality and are just the job for bird watching. They feel rubbery to the touch, so they are easy to grip onto, and they have a cord which means your child can carry them around their neck for quick use.
Next, the set contains a chunky green flashlight. It's has an ingenious squeeze action and that charges the torch. No batteries needed, so I love the fact I haven't got that extra expense. It's a decent torch too! There's also a handy little carry strap on it.
There's a nice big chunky magnifying glass. Pretty much an essential in an explorer kit. Again, it's good quality and it seems like it's pretty tough.
Next come the little extras that really make this kit something special. There's a compass, tweezers, butterfly net, a whistle, a bug observation chamber, an insect catcher and a cute little shovel. All great quality and such a great inclusion in any young explorers essentials.
After such an extensive list of items, the manufacturer has even thought of including a set of 12 realistic looking plastic insects. How great is that? Its a lovely way of keeping a childs interest and it makes for a lovely educational set.
Finally, if you don't fancy carrying all that around in the box, there's a really practical backpack to carry it all around in. It's very light and your child isn't going to struggle to carry this. It's just another lovely idea to add to the collection.
This is quite simply a fabulous explorer kit. It's targeted at ages 8 and over and I feel that's about right. Any younger and it would need supervision due to small parts. It's perfect for having great fun and educating your children about nature at the same time. It's a real joy.
