Lovely Design, but with an odd smell until it airs out for a bit

So, I decided to order these Gold Dipped Feathers because I enjoy crafts and I have several major events coming up in the next eighteen months that I still don’t really know what I am going to do for. So, I figured that these could come in handy for inspiration and, even if they don’t, they could come in handy for crafts or for costumes as my sister is a cosplayer. The package arrived undamaged and on time, which is always a nice thing to know. The feathers also arrived undamaged in a plastic bag. I will note that a sturdier container for them might be advisable as they easily could have been damaged in transport, but mine thankfully were not.

The first thing I will say is that I was surprised to receive 2 different types of feathers. The primary feathers I received were pretty much what I expected after looking at the pictures on the Amazon page – they were white feathers dipped in gold. It is well done, the gold dip is not clumpy and did not damage the structure of the feathers that I could see. The second type of feather I received was smaller and completely coated in gold instead of just being dipped at the tip in gold. While the advertising picture does show both types of feathers, it was unclear exactly how many of each you would get in your 60 feathers or what percentage would be each type of feather.          

Overall, I would rate this product by Shindel at 4 out of 5 stars. It is perfect for what it is. While the utility may seem a bit limited, as it is essentially a colored feather, it could be great for party decorations, center pieces, crafts, photo booths, costumes, and so much more. If you are a costumer, a party planner, or even just really like to use pretty feathers in your crafts, this product could definitely be a great fit for you. Plus, at $10.99 on Amazon, it is a really reasonable price for a surprisingly useful feather pack. The one negative that I have to give this is that the feather’s had an odd, foul smell for about a day after I opened the bag. I would plan to open the bag and leave it for about a day prior to working with these to solve that problem. Also, it would have been nice if they had a more secure container to ensure safe delivery.
