Not Sure I The Brand Can Be Trusted

I don’t know where to start with this review. From the beginning, I wasn’t sure if this router would be any good. I only got it to use as an extender because is cheap and I wanted an AC connection. So I decided to pick this router up. Now let's just get this out of the way real quick, I’m not going to discuss range in this review. Because range will hugely depend on where you have the router located and the materials the walls are built from in the house or business. I will say, I have had the signal strength on High when using this router. Also, another thing to note is this router doesn’t have gigabit ethernet ports, so is not an actual AC router. But I don’t mind that because my internet isn’t that fast anyway, and for local network access that is a disappointment but I can live with it. From my tests I have not seen any slowness come from this router, I’ve been using it for about a week now and haven’t had to restart the router or anything. Overall, to me this is a great router, it works great, it can handle multiple streaming services. But my primary concern about this router is the security of it. Since this router is imported directly from China, the firmware won’t always be updated real fast, even if they decide to update it. So the updates concern me about the overall security of the router, also you want to add a password to your networks when you set it up and also change the web login so that no one can get it into your network. Since the web login password is displayed directly on the screen when you go to the setup page of the router. Also back to the firmware, it's hard to tell if the firmware on the router even has protections against the latest exploits. So overall, I like this router, I just want to know more about the company and if I can trust the company to supply updates when security issues are found.
