I don't know a lot about technical gadgets such as these but I'll tell you what I do know. The man of the house does most of this technical stuff. What I can tell you is that I wanted to be able to play movies from my free Prime membership movies to my tv from my phone so that I could watch them on a bigger screen than my cell or laptop. With the Omars 6 in 1 type C hub, it was very simple. Not only that but I recently bought a projector and a 120" screen for home movies and this allowed me to also watch them using the projector. Now that was super cool. The kids loved watching the cartoon movies on the big screen. It was just like going to the drive-in or movie theater without the cost.  It can image my pictures on my phone to the TV too. Whatever I am playing or seeing on my phone can be displayed on the TV or through the projector system.

This supports HDMI 4K, Gigabit Ethernet, VGA and has two USB Charging Ports. No drivers required and it's plug and play. Keep in mind that the VGA and HDMI for video output of 1080P and 4K resolution cannot be used at the same time. Also, you should connect a non-powered external hard drive to USB 3.0 port/0.9A instead of 0.5A to ensure the best performance. When using the computer always connect the hub to your computer before the other ports of the hub are connected. I recommend that you read the manual before using this device.

This OMARS USB C Hub came with a nice case to store it in when not in use. I liked that they added the case. Although I don't know a lot about these I can tell you it did what I needed it to do and I'm happy with the way it works.
