Most of the reviews I have seen about this type of product, are mostly written by women who have used the weights to help speed up their body's recovery and healing process after childbirth. My story is a little bit different though. I was diagnosed with severe Interstitial Cystitis when I was 31 years old. The pain I suffer every time I go to the bathroom is almost unbearable, and I've just kinda had to get use to it over the years. One symptom I didn't fully expect to progress so rapidly, is weakening of my bladder and pelvic muscles, which had become embarassingly undeniable shortly after my 36th birthday. When my bladder was full, and I felt the need ti urinate, there we're times that if I couldn't reach the bathroom within 3-5 minutes, I was unable to utilize my bladder muscles to hold it any longer. It was so embarrassing, and i thought there was nothing I could do to help fix it. I started carrying a clean set of underwear with me in my purse whenever I went anywhere, and a few changes of clothes in my car. Because on any given day, if I went out for linger than a few hours, I could pretty much count on needing them. It took a real toll on my social, professional, and my love life. I had to do something. A friend suggested I give one of these kegel weight set a try, as she has had success with them for a similar issue. I had nothing to lose, so I bought this 5 piece set. I followed the included suggestions and talked to my doctor as well. At first I thought it wasn't helping, but I stuck to my daily routine, gradually increasing the weight. I have been diligent about my routine for almost a year now, using the weights everyday for about 30-45 min while stretching and doing yoga. I am AMAZED at the difference it has made! For a condition that I was told is progressing fast, and irreversible, I almost gve up hope. But by using this set, and following my doctor's suggestions, I have been able to regain about 85% of my bladder control, and no longer need to carry changes of clothes anymore. I can't tell you enough about the impact this set has had on my life. It honestly gave me my life back. So for anyone out there wondering if they would actually work for incontinence, or weakened pelvic/bladder muscles... They work! Give them a try. It may be the best decision you ever made.
