safer around kids and pets than standard candles

I like candles but hate the risks that they pose when using them. A few times, I have forgotten to extinguish the candles before going to bed or upon leaving the house to run errands. With kids and pets, I needed to find a different solution. I wanted something that would provide the same ambience of a candle but needed to find something that provided a safer option than having an open flame. I bought this set of 12 battery operated votive candles from Topstone. These candles have an open wave design so they look like candles that have already been slightly melted down from use. Each candle is about 1 1/4 inches tall and about 1 1/2 inches wide. They have a clear simulated flame and the candle flame changes colors. 

The candles rotate through seven different colors and can be turned on or off using the included remote controller. The controller also has a timer feature which lets you set the candles to run for 4 hours, six hours or eight hours before automatically turning off. The candles come with the button cell batteries already installed and have a switch on the bottom to turn the candles off for storage. I plan on using these candles to light some of my holiday craft projects and decorations. These battery operated candles would be perfect for decorating at a wedding, shower or party.
