small but mighty

My husband is a contractor and uses a cargo trailer to transport his tools from job site to job site. I am always trying to find ways to help him keep his trailer organized so I bought him this set of hooks to hold smaller items from the metal beams to create more storage space. The package contained 12 magnetic hooks. Each hook has a brushed nickel finish and they all have rotating hook heads. The hooks are 1.4 inches tall and 0.6 inches wide at the magnetic base.

The hooks can hold up to 12 pounds. If the hooks are mounted horizontally,  they will only hold 2 pounds before they begin to slip but if they are hung vertically, they will hold 12 pounds. I intend on hanging them vertically from the ceiling of the trailer. The hooks will also have better holding power depending on the smoothness of the surface of the material that they are stuck to. The hooks did not hold as well to the rougher texture on the side of my refrigerator as they did to the smoother metal on the beams in the cargo trailer.

These magnets may be small but they are quite strong. I like that they do not damage or scratch surfaces and do not leave holes or residue so I can use them on most any metal surface. I liked these hooks so much that I am planning on buying another set or two for use in my kitchen and on the filing cabinet in our homeschooling room to hold our flip card rings. There are so many different uses for these handy magnetic hooks.
