~ What ~
Made of mostly black plastic, this small spherical shaped projector nightlight displays a crescent moon and stars onto walls and ceilings in the dark. Measuring approximately 4.5 inches round and 5 inches tall, it has pinpoint star-shaped lights that shine from its core. The company offers 9 different projector options to choose. Coming with a short 8-inch USB cord for charging, it can also use 3 AA batteries that are not added. No instructions are included in its gift box, ready for giving.

~ Why ~
When our 5-year-old granddaughter visits, she likes to have a nightlight on in her room. I like the stars shine around a dark room without moving or being too obtrusive. It can be set as white moon and stars only or as interchanging LED colors including a white light option. There is also a monthly setting that shows where the moon would be in the sky. Because it does not use electrical plug-in, it can be placed anywhere, including in a tent, camping, or playing inside.

~ Why Not ~
Those who do not like small soft or colored lighting of stars in a dark room will not appreciate this product. Others may wish it included an electrical cord that could be plugged into a wall socket. I found the USB cord too short to use, so I had to use the battery option. The item is made out of lightweight black plastic so may break easily.

~ Wish ~
With month sections at the bottom of the lamp, it is hard to decipher where it should be set since no instructions are included. In looking at the constellations, they do not appear to be accurate but are randomly placed. I wish the lamp had an electrical adapter included as well as a longer USB cable.

~ Want ~
If you are looking for an inexpensive nightlight that shows a moon with stars in white or color options, this would be a good choice for a young astronomer who is not concerned with constellation accuracies.
