Great headset for the price. The kids love that it lights up. The sound quality on this set is good.
As far as the mic vocals are clear when speaking however; it is best we have found that it is best suited for PC Gaming. Vocal sound and in game sound seem to be clearer and the volume louder on the PC vs. the Gaming Console.
A added plus it that this set includes a Gaming Console attachment. It does work with Xbox, PS4 (remember to check your sound settings, change it to all audio and check mic settings) and Xbox 1. Chatter and gaming sound are bother heard clear. The volume level is not super loud on the gaming consoles; however they are at a safe, comfortable volume level
The usb connector is for the light function so you can choose to have the light effect on or off simply by connecting the Usb or not.
