I’ve found recently an incompatibility between some cables I’ve obtained with standard USB one end and either lightning, micro-USB or USB-C at the other end and the fact that a lot of fast chargers have USB-C outputs. This makes some of the standard USB cables a bit redundant. This little gadget gets past that issue as I was able to plug my standard USB cable into it and then plug it into my USB-C fast charger at one end and into my iPad Air (with lightning connection) at the other. It’s happily charging as I type. There might be a slight loss in the speed of charging, but that may have more to do with continuing to use my device whilst charging rather than any fault with the connector or the connection. I wanted something to make my fast charge standard USB cables useful again and this is exactly what I wanted.
