A Surprisingly Good Personal Space Heater

Personal fan heaters seem to be popular at the moment so I decided to have a look at this small one from Arino. My first impression was that it seemed very small and was doubtful that this mini heater would be capable of doing the job.

It came in a small printed box along with an instruction leaflet, the heater has an overall measurement of 18.5 x 14.5 x 8.5 cms and weighs 550g. The heater body and integrated stand is made from a heat resistant plastic whilst the mesh at the front is made from metal and is fitted with a power cable with a UK mains plug.

This heater uses a 500 watt ceramic heating element and has a fan behind it blowing hot air which can be directed where you want it and the uses a filter which can be removed to be cleaned when a build-up of dust occurs. The main question though is does this heater work as a personal heater ? Yes it does, and it only takes a few seconds to heat up and start blowing hot air where you want it and if close to you it will keep you warm. Move away from it or turn the heater off and you are back in the cold but as this states that it is a personal space heater and not a room heater and works perfectly well as this task.

Very small, portable and capable of keeping your personal space warm this is ideal for use in rooms that don’t have any other form of heating or when you just want to stay warm but don’t want to put the central heating on because using this 500 watt heater may be the cheaper alternative.
