My spouse and I both enjoy cooking, although under different circumstances, so I am always on the lookout for new kitchen tools. We decided to try this Raskyee knife simply because we did not have a knife of this style and size already in our collection. As this listing contains two different size knives, I want to be clear and note that we ordered the 8-inch chef knife option and not the 7-inch chopping knife. This knife sells for $14.99 on Amazon, which is a decent price for a larger kitchen knife. Since getting this knife a few days ago, we have both used it on several occasions. We tested the knife cutting potatoes, apples, onions, raw ground Italian sausage, and a cooked beef roast.

First of all, I want to say that the knife was packaged well. It arrived safely and without damage from Amazon and the knife comes in a gift box that is well built and sturdy. The box is black and contains the brand name and has an insert that is fitted to the knife for safe storage as well. The knife itself also has a nice clean design with the black and steel on the handle complementing the stainless-steel blade. It came sharpened quite well, so we did not need to sharpen the knife before use. The handle is a bit heavier than the average knife of this size, but it fit nicely into my palm and was shaped well for easy gripping. I will say that the handle could be a bit awkward it you have larger than average hands. Overall, while it was not perfectly balanced, it was weighted well so that it was easy to cut through various food products.

The knife cut through everything we tested it on very well, with the slight exception of the beef roast. When the beef roast was raw, it cut it extremely well but when it was cooked and very tender, it was a bit harder to cut it neatly. We minced garlic with no issue, sliced potatoes, and cubed meat with ease, so that was definitely a positive as many knives only work well on certain types of work. We have only had the knife for a few days now, but it has held up and excelled at every test we have tried so far. It retained its sharp edge for each of those tests, but I cannot assess how well it will hold its edge long term as we simply have not had it long enough yet.

That said, for now, I would definitely give this knife a 5 of 5 stars. I have no real criticisms of this knife and am very pleased with this purchase.
