Better than expected

Works as advertised! Included batteries so I was able to open the package and use it immediately. Bought because I smelled some pet smells in our basement den that we couldn't locate. We turned off all the lights and searched the floors for pet accidents, which thanks to this light, we found a few. You have to be fairly close but I wasn't with my nose against the floor or anything like someone else here said they had to do- standing up I was able to shine the light around and see pet pee spots fairly easily. It works best on carpets and the darker the better, but the carpet downstairs is cream colored and it worked just fine there, too, as we spotted several accident spots where we'd been smelling something. We knew of a spot that happened on the vinyl in our laundry room but it's a very light color and shiny and so either we cleaned it well enough and there's no residue or the surface was too shiny or bright to see anything. It also highlighted cracks in the walls we didn't normally see, and scuffs on the wooden floor that aren't noticeable with the lights on. We also learned a lot about all the spots in our kitchen that have apparently never been cleaned! Was a fun family adventure in the dark and would definitely recommend. For this price you cant go wrong. Much better quality than I expected. My teenage son asked if he could have one of his own because it made everything light up super cool. Will make a great stocking stuffer this December and if we need another I'd buy this one again. I anticipate if it gets used often the batteries will need frequent replacing, just like in all our other regular LED flashlights like this- they are SUPER bright but burn through batteries (we try to use rechargeables).
