Design Could Have Been Pretty But Ruined By Cheap Materials

I ordered this on a whim, because my sister is fond of cherry blossoms and if it was nice, I planned to give it to her. The product arrived on time and undamaged, however, it was very tightly packaged and it was difficult to get out of the box without actually tearing the box. I was hesitant to order it because it is battery powered, but I decided to give it a try.

Once I managed to pry the tree out of the box, I have to admit I was underwhelmed and my impression only worsened. The battery pack is attached by a cord, which is not very attractive and it would have been much nicer if they simply built it into the base of the tree. Instead, it has an unseemly cord and battery pack that just sits on the table which really detracts from the product in my opinion.

Also, the trunk of the tree looks like it is wrapped electrical tape and it is not visually appealing. It looks cheaply made, which you can sort of see in the pictures on Amazon but it is much more apparent in person. The tree design is decent, so if it was better built as opposed to looking like electrical tape, I think it would have been pretty. However, the trunk really ends up detracting from the plastic blossoms which would have otherwise been fairly cute.

The blossoms themselves are nice enough, small and clear plastic which lights well when the tree is on. The light is fairly dim, however, so this would be suitable for a night light or a decoration, but not as a main source of light.

Overall, I would rate this product with a 2 out of 5 stars. The product is flimsy, the trunk looks like electrical tape, and the battery pack just sits out on the table away from the base of the tree. All of these aspects really do take away from what could have been a pretty piece if a little more effort was put into the craftmanship or slightly better materials were used. I will likely not be keeping this product, because it is simply not attractive sitting on my end table with all those issues. That said, if you don’t mind the cheap appearance, it would make a suitable night light.
