This hat provides good sun protection as well ventilation on the top through mesh vents. It is stitched well and made with nice quality materials. The brim of the hat is wide and also pretty hard and sturdy (i.e. the brim won’t bend in the wind), and the two sides of the brim can be folded up and buttoned if you choose. I got this mainly because of the detachable as well as adjustable cloth wrap that hangs from the hat and that covers your neck and face. The front part of the wrap is made of mesh so you can breathe, and the wrap protects me from the sun as well as bugs when I am camping. The hat circumference around the head can be tightened with the elastic drawcord with toggle and there is also an adjustable chin drawstring with toggle so the hat doesn't fly off in windy situation
