The fountain is completely powered by the solar panels surrounding it. It's environmentally safe. It will work three to four hours without sunlight. There are four different types of nozzel head which gives you eight different fountain patterns. There's also a nozzel tip combination and a 30 cm rise height. The pump has these two little pins that determine water levels. NEVER let this run without water, it will more than likely burn out the motor like other fountains. You can use this cute little fountain for bird baths, fish tanks, ponds, and in a garden. I bought this one for a bird bath that I'm making in my yard. This fountaint works great and really add to the garden making it even prettier.
