Sturdy and Easy to use!

I recently had a pretty intensive spinal surgery, in which they had to enter in the front of my throat. Due to the tracial tube they used during surgery, it was extremely painful to attempt to swallow medication for about a week afterward. This pill cutter/crusher was a LIFESAVER! I got permission from my doctor to cut the pills in half, then crush half of one to mix in applesauce, as it was a lot easier to ingest that way. This little gadget made the whole process so fast and easy. The medication had score lines so I didn't have to use the pill cutter often, but I did deduct one star because the blade does not cut all the way up. What I mean is, my medication is small, so placing it at the 'top' of the holding area made the blade completely miss the pill. , but the crushing section is what was so useful. It did have a very unpleasant squeak when twisting it open the first few times, but I'd say that stopped within 3 uses. From then on, it was perfect. You simply put the medication into the bottom section and screw the bottom back on. By doing that, it easily crushes the mediation into a fine powder and keeps it securely in the container until you're ready to use it. (The fact that it's a 'screw in' design allows it to not only be easy and smooth to use but also makes it very secure to store the medication.) 
It came with a bonus carrier for medication as well. I have found that a little harder to use, because the lid 'pops' open, and is not on hinges or anything. I am naturally a clumsy person with my hands, so I worry that I'll pop the lid open with too much force and that medication will go flying, but luckily that has yet to happen. The sections inside are pretty small, but I am able to hold the 4 medications that I have to take each morning, so the compartments are adequately sized for my needs. The only improvement I'd make would be to put the lid on hinges and have it snap closed, similar to eyeglass cases. Considering it's a bonus item included in the order, I felt no need to deduct stars from the main products rating. 

I would also think that this multifunction pill tool would be very useful to pet owners, as it would allow medications to be crushed and mixed in food very easily. I'd highly recommend it to anyone who needs help with those issues.
