If your worried about using the wire brushes that have been known to leave behind bristles on the grill then give this woove wire brush a try.
I feel that it does clean my cast iron grate pretty good. It gets inbetween the grate well enough and it has been holding up good. The handle is long and strong enough to get the job done. Over all I am happy with it.
