Got this to be a Christmas gift for our Fur Babies but decided to give it to them early. It runs either off of batteries or by using the included Micro USB cable and a wall charger (which I opted for). Once you have it set on the surface of your choosing (I recommend someplace high up like a book shelf or counter) you can angle the laser beam up or down so that it does not shine too far out and gets onto the wall or furniture. When turned on it will run for 15 minutes every few hours, making different patterns as well as reversing on itself. I have seen some reviews on Amazon saying it stopped working shortly after purchase yet I have been running ours 24 hours a day for a few months now with no issues. It is a set it and forget it type of thing and every time it turns on sends our cats into a frenzy of chasing and playing catch the dot. Turn it on at bed time to tire them out so you can get to sleep easier!
