Power Scrubber - Good little gadget.

I was quite impressed by this power scrubber. I thought I would give it a try since the idea of having a cleaner oven without paying someone to come and scrub it for me appealed greatly.  On arrival the scrubber comes with a battery, charger and three different metal head accessories, along with a manual.

Reading the reviews they were a little bit mixed, but I decided to give it a go anyway.

My oven hob , without doubt , has had it’s glory days! After having this particular oven for well over a decade (if not more!) it has certainly been through the wars. Would this little power scrubber work a miracle – No , it did not.

What it did do and quite nicely – was make a start to get through the decade of grease and dirt that has been well and truly cremated onto my hob – understatement of the year if there ever was one!

It is very easy to use, with good instructions on how to charge the battery first before you use it – and extremely simple to put together – just slot, twist and go (it is in fact that easy!)

The machine is light and easy to hold with one hand although it is a bit strange as the machine does pull slightly due to the rotating brush. If you are using cream cleaner or a lot of water prepare for splash back also. Cover the surrounding areas if it is a dirty job!

I gave it the most inhuman test known to man – I think with a few more sessions it could actually rid my hob of its many layers of dirt – we also tried it on the oven grill bars where it worked better (little bit less dirt to deal with there ) and so I could see this being a brilliant buy for cleaning a BBQ after a summer of grilling.

Am looking forward to trying this on multiple surfaces such as tiles etc and seeing how it does, but for a first try it was simple to use, light to hold and overall performed very well.  It is not that noisy either – about the sound level of a cordless screwdriver or drill before you start attacking a wall with it.

If you accept the fact that it may take a few goes to get something that is really grimy spick and span then this might be worth a try. If you are expecting a miracle cleaner then this may not be the product for you.
