This small portable waterproof battery back-up power bank is used to charge several types of electronics such as smartphones that include iPhones and Androids, MP4s, PSPs, and cameras by solar power and without access to electricity. With a 10000mAh capacity and dual USB ports, the 5.4 by 3 by 0.8-inch gadget that is black with blue, green, orange, or black trim has a 5V/2A input and 5V/1A output with USB ports and an emergency flashlight. Also included are a carabiner with a built-in compass and a white USB to micro USB cable. There is a LED light showing when the product is fully powered. Instructions are included in the box.
~ Why ~
My husband and I have both Android smartphones and an Apple iPad and have to keep everything charged, especially when we go on trips. I love the idea of having solar power, especially if there is an emergency or catastrophe so we can charge our electronics. I like that this one device can handle both types of Androids and iPhones at the same time without it being plugged into an electrical source. Another nice feature is it can fully charge after 10 hours in direct sunlight.
~ Why Not ~
Those who do not travel, need to recharge their cell phones regularly, or need a power bank when electricity is not readily available will not consider this product. Some may not like how heavy it is at around 7.5 ounces if they are concerned with weight in their backpack or hiking gear.
~ Wish ~
With this product being compact and easy to carry in a purse, backpack, or briefcase, I wish it included a small drawstring carry bag for protection.
~ Want ~
If you are looking for a solar power bank that can charge both Android and Apple electronics without depending on an electrical source, this would be a keeper.
