I have an Australian Shepherd/red nose pit mix who is a power chewer. He can rip through a toy in a few seconds and shreds it to near nothingness. He is the ultimate test when a company claims their product is made for aggressive chewers. If it can stand up to his power chewing jaws of destruction, you know you have a good product. This is one of the last toys I got for him to try out. It has been awhile since I got this and it is still holding up to his chewing, though he has since lost interest in it since he can't destroy it. It is a solid ring and though it is not heavy, it is durable and thick. He is a large dog and is easily able to carry it around, so it would definitely be too large for small or medium sized dogs. The listing says it is made of 100% non-toxic, safe rubber and is 1" thick and nearly 6 inches in diamter. I disagree with the company stating that it is okay for smaller dogs, though, as it is clearly too large and bulky for a smaller dog, and even for many medium sized dogs, to carry around and chew on. As I said, my dog is a larger dog at nearly 80 pounds and it is a good size for him. I appreciate seeing the company offer a 1 year guarantee on this product, but wonder what that includes and how one might claim they no longer want the product - does it entitle them to a full refund? Another product? If my agressive chewer were to destroy it, would I then be given a new one or told I cannot have one since my dog destroyed it? Is it by defect only that a product is replaced? So many questions I have about this and how it might happen. But for my family, we will keep this and try to entice the dog with it again in a few weeks. He seems to rotate through toys every few weeks, deciding one is his current favorite go to toy that he plays with non stop before tiring of it and rediscovering another. I am sure this will go back in the rotation soon enough and be back in play again.
